On July 15, 1942, the 80th Division was again ordered into active service. I have compiled information concerning over 14,000 men who served with 80th. "ONE HELL OF A WAR" RESEARCH RESOURCES

Major(r) Dean Dominique wrote "The Attack Will Go On; The 317th Infantry Regiment in World War II," his Masters Thesis at LSU in 2003. Several years later, he wrote and published ONE HELL OF A WAR, based on his Masters Thesis and Col James Hayes' memoir, THE VALIANT DIE ONCE. Dean donated several resources used for his thesis.
